Chapter 2: Stuck in grief

Actions that keep you stuck

Sometimes what we do keeps us stuck. For example, we may hold on to all of the person's belongings. A job may be lost because of frequent visits to the cemetery during work hours.

While these behaviours can be comforting in the short-term, we risk becoming stuck when we delay the task of letting go.

Actions that keep you stuck Actions that move you forward
Spending hours on the couch watching TV. Exercising regularly.
Spending hours and hours over many days looking at old pictures. Spending time with friends and family.
Saying no to new opportunities in life that may present themselves. Saying yes to invitations and trying new things.
