I've been there
Meaza talks about learning from a loved one's life and death.(3:22)Video transcript

Over the years, you may have lost other people important to you and experienced losses other than death. The death of someone can trigger memories of your "loss history," events you may not have thought about in a long time. These include loss of:

  • A home
  • A pet
  • A job
  • Time
  • Eyesight, hearing or walking
  • Sexuality
  • Your home country
  • Fertility
  • Custody of a child
A painful memory from your past may add to your current distress. On the other hand, lessons learned from earlier losses may help you deal with the present.
