Chapter 3: Ways your grief may be affected

Introduction

I had to go through a lot of little griefs and sometimes bigger ones. The first one was to realize that my child was not going to be with me for a long time

I was his foster mom, but it helped to have a positive relationship with his birth parent.

Grief is affected by many things. These may include the age of your child when they died; how your child died – whether it was sudden or after a long illness; your relationship with your child; and your child’s “legacy.” This chapter explores these in more detail.
